Whoopi Goldberg is an American actress, comedian, author, television host, producer, writer, and director.
She's known for her roles in Sister Act and its sequel Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, Made in America, The Lion King, Boys on the Side, Ghosts of Mississippi, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Girl, Interrupted, For Colored Girls, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
She's also known for having portrayed Guinan in Star Trek: The Next Generation, and for being the moderator in The View, since 2007, for which she won a Daytime Emmy Award.
She made a guest appearance as NYC councilwoman Regina Thomas in the CBS crime drama television series in the Season 6 episode, "Help Me Help You". She reprised her role in the Season 8 episode, "The Enemy of My Enemy". She later reprised her role in the Season 11 Premiere "Triumph Over Trauma".
